SAP BW can extract and use data from a range of sources. These include SAP R/2 and SAP R/3 systems, non-SAP systems, commercial data providers, and other BW systems.

The SAP BW server provides all the necessary tools to model, extract, transform, aggregate, store, and access the data. SAP BW users can use the SAP Business Explorer, a Web standard browser, or presentation tools from other software providers to access data.

As a rule, the field sales force makes direct contact with the customer. Information can be entered into a laptop, for example. The call center is a central point in a company for receiving and processing incoming calls and e-mails from customers. The Internet is frequently used for sales and purchasing promotions. There are two different scenarios here:

  • B2C - Business-to-Consumer
  • B2B - Business-to-Business

Different departments in a company create incoming customer information in different ways. This often means that different information is available in different departments. Therefore, customer support can be very difficult.

SAP.s CRM solution (CRM Mobile, CRM Interaction Center, CRM Internet Sales) enables you to maintain customer data centrally and allows your employees to access information from any department (field sales force, call center, and so on). Sales employees can access all available information and therefore provide top quality customer service.
